WWE has made significant changes to their backstage writing team.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that Smackdown lead writer Ryan Ward has taking a leave of absence from the company. Ed Koskey, who had been the lead writer for RAW will now be moved to SmackDown, and will be working with SmackDown Executive Director Eric Bischoff. Koskey was been with the company for close to 20 years, and currently serves as VP of Creative Writing for WWE.
Jonathan Baeckstrom is taking over as lead writer for RAW, and will work under RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman. Baeckstrom had been the lead writer for 205 Live, and more recently was brought in to RAW when Paul Heyman became GM.
The writing teams for RAW and SmackDown have been split ahead of WWE’s next Superstar Shake-up draft which is scheduled to take place on October 11 during SmackDown Live, and October 14 during RAW.
