WWE is working towards launching their next iteration of the WWE Network. In an update from yesterday’s story covered by The Verge, more details on WWE’s tiered plan has been revealed.

According to PWInsider, WWE is planning on launching their tiered priced WWE Network in in January 2020. George Barrios, Co-President of WWE mentioned three tiers of service, including a free, regular and premium version of the WWE Network is expected to be offered.

WWE has reached out to a number of independent companies regarding their interest in having content on the WWE Network. Mike Johnson of PWInsider expects EVOLVE, ICW, and PROGRESS to come on board. Those three promotions already have close ties with WWE. It’s also expected WWE has CHIKARA come on board, which is owned by Mike Quackenbush, who has been a guest trainer at the WWE Performance Center.

WWE has also reached out to Lucha Libre promotions in Mexico to strike a deal to air their product on the Network, no word on which promotions have been approached.

The following plans were outlined by WWE Co-President George Barrios in the latest report from The Verge.

  • Free: This will offer the same free-to-watch videos you’d normally find on WWE.com. Barrios said WWE might also offer timed previews of paid WWE Network content.
  • Regular: The standard WWE Network experience, combining free content with subscription benefits like live pay-per-views, on-demand streaming, and original programming.
  • Premium: “We think there’s also an opportunity to super-serve our most passionate Network subscribers with a premium tier that’ll bring together more content for them, more features for them, and also integrating some of our other non-video services like our commerce — potentially integrating something like free shipping, bringing together our digital ticketing efforts in there. It becomes the one place to experience everything WWE.” Barrios didn’t disclose how much WWE might charge for the premium tier.
