The WWE ThunderDome is set to change locations once again next month.
In December, WWE had to relocate their ThunderDome from the Amway Center in Orlando to the Tropicana Field in Tampa, and now it appears like they will be moving once again.
From April 9th, the Tropicana Field will no longer be available for WWE due to the Tampa Bay Rays returning to the venue to face the New York Yankees.
Last week, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that flights were booked for Tampa on the Monday and Friday after WrestleMania, meaning that WWE would likely be using a venue in Tampa as their next ThunderDome host. He also added that the company had discussions with the Yuengling Center for potentially being the home of their television production.
Ringside News is now reporting that WWE will be using the Yuengling Center as their next location, ‘unless something changes’. The venue is located on the USF campus in Tampa and was formerly known as the USF Sun Dome. That venue played host to the 1995 Royal Rumble.
The Amalie Arena in Tampa, which has previously hosted WWE events is currently booked for NBA and NHL games through May.
WWE is set to host WrestleMania 37 on April 10th & 11th inside the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Florida, which will also see fans return for the first time (excluding NXT) since March 2020.
