Reaction To Mark Carrano Firing

On Thursday, WWE received backlash after Mickie James revealed how WWE sent her belongings following her release from the company.

In a video posted to her Instagram and Twitter accounts, Mickie James revealed that she had received her belongings from WWE in a trash bag and cardboard box.

Dear @VinceMcMahon Im not sure if you’re aware, I did receive my @WWE care package today. Thank you. #AlwaysBlessedandGrateful #WomensWrestlingMatters 💋 pic.twitter.com/PyDC7ZC9lG

WWE higher-ups Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and John Laurinaitis addressed the situation upon James’ video gaining attention online.

Upon learning of the disrespectful treatment of some of our recently released talent, we took immediate action.  The person responsible for this inconsiderate action has been fired.

Upon learning of the disrespectful treatment some of our recently released talent received on behalf of the company, we took immediate action. The person responsible for this inconsiderate action has been fired and is no longer with @WWE.

.@MickieJames I am embarrassed you or anyone else would be treated this way. I apologize personally and on behalf of @WWE. The person responsible is no longer with our company. https://t.co/nvN4WsKC0I

Following the incident, WrestlingInc was first to report that WWE had fired their Senior Director of Talent Relations, Mark Carrano, with other sites confirming the report.

Fightful Select (subscription required) spoke with several former WWE talents following Carrano’s firing from the company. It was noted that the reaction was unanimously in favor of Carrano’s firing, with some talents simply stating ‘f*ck Mark Carrano’ to more detailed responses regarding their experience with him.

Fightful added that multiple wrestlers called Carrano a ‘snake’, however, another wrestler mentioned that he was a good guy deep down but let the power get to him.

A longtime name believed that Carrano will return to WWE in the future as he knows ‘where too many bodies are buried’, and that the trash bag incident was WWE’s perfect way to get rid of him.

It was also noted that Carrano had fought to increase the pay of referees, which was something others previously didn’t attempt.
