What Is Next In The WrestleMania Calendar?
As every wrestling fan knows – regardless of the promotion(s) that they follow – WrestleMania is one of the biggest professional wrestling events to take place each and every year, if not the biggest.
Millions and millions of people all over the world continue to tune in each and every April when the main event takes place, with some of the biggest performances to take place in the squared circle.
Of course, we have already had WrestleMania 38 and we have already seen the Superstars of the WWE compete in the WrestleMania Backlash promotion, with the biggest names in the company having performed at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on Sunday, May 8.
Naturally, the event was a continuation and follow on from the previous PPV – WrestleMania 38 – and saw a number of bouts continue to take place as a form of rematches. Nonetheless, Backlash was a solid event and one that left fans wanting more.
All eyes on WrestleMania 39?
Of course, whilst there is still the vast majority of a year to wait, there will be some attention on WrestleMania 39 already.
Admittedly, it is hard to try and predict what events might take place on the card, however we already know what the calendar and schedule will look like, as well as where one of the biggest shows in professional wrestling will take place.
Currently, WrestleMania 39 – which has also been dubbed “WrestleMania Hollywood’‘ – is scheduled to take place at the incredible SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The stadium is no stranger to hosting big events, with the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers continuing to play their NFL football there, whilst the venue was also the host stadium for the recent SuperBowl XLVI contest that saw the Rams defeat the Cincinnati Bengals.
Fans may remember that we were supposed to have the show in California back in 2021, however the pandemic meant the venue was changed and it was held at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
Additionally, we also know that the upcoming WrestleMania show will be held over two nights; something the WWE appears to be making the norm. After many years when the event was hosted on Sundays, wrestling now takes place over an entire weekend. With this in mind, it is known that the show will take place on Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2, 2023.
It will be the seventh time it takes place in the state of California, too, although the first time Los Angeles has been able to host WrestleMania since 2005 (WrestleMania 21).
What if you can not wait that long?
Thankfully, fans will have plenty to be able to preoccupy themselves with in regards to major PPV events.
We still have the “Hell in a Cell” event that is scheduled to take place on June 5, whilst “Money in the Bank” and “SummerSlam” both take place in July, with the former of the two on July 2 and the biggest show of the summer taking place on July 30.
Let’s not forget that we do still have “Survivor Series” before the end of the year, too, with this PPV scheduled for November 26.
Therefore, we have plenty of WWE action still to look forward to!
