Earlier today, news broke that Ronda Rousey is likely to exit WWE after Wrestlemania 35.  The report from Dave Meltzer states Ronda is looking to start a family with her husband Travis Browne, but could still work for the company in a similar fashion to John Cena or Brock Lesnar.

The original report stated that Rousey’s full-time commitment with the WWE was for one year, afterwards she would leave to start a family, and then could come back.

TMZ reached out to WWE who stated Ronda Rousey’s contract with the company ends in April 2021.

“Ronda Rousey is under contract with WWE until April 10, 2021. Whether she wants to start a family is a private matter.”

Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet states that Ronda told the WWE back in November that she would be taking a break after Wrestlemania 35.

Dave Meltzer followed up this afternoon on Wrestling Observer Live and stated that when she originally signed with the company that the plan had always been for her to start a family.

Meltzer clarified that Ronda is under a 3-year contract with the company, but as a full-time performer she is likely done after Wrestlemania. Meltzer also states he believes a lot of the women on the roster were aware of her plans.

As of this week, the current plan is to have Ronda Rousey continue to work full-time until Wrestlemania, afterwards it’s believed she will take a break, but could come back in a part time role for the duration of her contract.

If Ronda does take time off to start a family, her contract could however be frozen if the WWE decides to do so, similar to what they do with injured superstars.

It’s unknown whether any terms have been laid out in her initial agreement that prevents that from happening.
