Update: Andrew Zarian and Wrestlevotes are both reporting, SummerSlam is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 21.

This is the same day Manny Pacquiao is set to face Errol Spence Jr. in Las Vegas.

Possible Date Change For SummerSlam

WWE may be changing the date of the biggest event of the summer.

The company planned to have the event take place on Sunday, August 22, but that may be changed according to a new report from Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men Podcast.

During his latest live stream, Zarian noted the date of SummerSlam is being changed. The new date or reason behind the change was not noted.

“It’s not a date any of you people think it is”

The expected site of this year’s event is Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. It should be noted, Manny Pacquiao is set to face Errol Spence Jr. on August 21 in Las Vegas, with reports suggesting it will also take place at Allegiant Stadium. This could be the reason WWE wants to change the date.

Major Main Event Set For SummerSlam

This year’s pay-per-view is expected to have a major match headline the show. Zarian provided a hint, but did not specify who will compete in the match.

“I’m going to say, what you can’t see you can’t believe”

Based on the hint, many can interpret this as John Cena vs. Roman Reigns, but that has yet to reported or confirmed.

“I know the main event, I think it’s a pretty big main event, especially by today’s WWE standards. It’s a match that we haven’t seen happen to often. I consider this a pretty big main event”

‘Bizarre’ Special Guest Host

WWE is also planning a special guest host for this year’s event. No names were provided, other than this person is “bizarre”.

Zarian dropped a subtle hint, stating “I gotta wear my Louboutin’s to talk about this, I got to wear my red bottoms to talk about who the person is”.

Based on that hint, speculation leads us to believe he is talking about Cardi B, who boosted Louboutin’s brand after mentioning them on her song hit single “Bodak Yellow”.

As more details are known, an update will be provided.
