WWE Releases Tom Phillips

Thomas Hannifan, better known to WWE fans as Tom Phillips has been released by WWE.

According to Fightful, Phillips was part of the latest round of backstage releases. WWE has yet to make an official announcement or comment on the report.

Phillips signed with WWE in 2012, initially conducting backstage interviews for WWE digital. He also served as host of the Social Media Lounge ahead of WWE pay-per-view pre-shows.

During his time with WWE, Phillips was at the broadcast desk for both RAW and SmackDown, as well as NXT UK.

In 2020, he became the lead announcer for Monday Night RAW. He was replaced last month with Adnan Virk, who also left the company this week.

After his RAW departure, WWE added him to the 205 Live broadcast team, and announced he was handling special projects for WWE programming on Peacock.
