Adam Cole’s WWE Contract Expired In Early July

WWE NXT star Adam Cole could be departing the company later this month.

As first reported by Wrestling Inc, Adam Cole’s WWE contract expired following July’s Great American Bash event, but has agreed to extend it through SummerSlam.

Fightful Select (subscription required) added, there was an assumption within the company that his contract expired in December, but quickly realized it was up in early July. He is being praised internally for being able to work with the company, and “not appearing on another program without any notice”.

Cole debuted for WWE in 2017, becoming an NXT Triple Crown Champion during his time with the company. He is the longest-reigning NXT Champion.

As additional details are known, an update will be provided.
