Sting debuted for All Elite Wrestling during this week’s special edition of Dynamite, Winter Is Coming.
Following his debut, the company issued a press release revealing the 61-year old wrestling legend has signed a full-time multi-year deal with the company.
Dave Meltzer spoke on the signing during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, noting the the writing was on the wall after Sting’s merchandise contract with WWE recently expired, resulting in the company pulling all stock from its WWEShop.
While many fans would love to see Sting wrestle, as of now that does not seem to be case. Meltzer noted, Sting is not planning to take any bumps, and anything physical he does will have to be executed very carefully.
“He’s going to be a regular on television, they wanted this idea of the big star from the old generation TNT being back as a regular. Whatever physical stuff he does they are going to have to do very safely. There will be physical stuff, but I don’t think he’ll be taking any bumps or anything like that, but he’s in, he’s going to be a character in some form”
All Elite Wrestling has announced Sting will be speaking during next week’s episode of Dynamite. The company has also released several pieces of merchandise at ShopAEW.com
