Further Details On Potential WWE Network Special At The End Of August

WWE’s plans to hold a WWE Network Special at the end of August were part of a number of plans the company had prior to the most recent management shakeup.

Earlier this week, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful first reported WWE was considering a possible WWE Network special the week after SummerSlam. Today, he provided an update via Fightful Select (subscription required).

According to the report, WWE was in contact with some partners, informing them of a WWE Network special to take place on August 30. These talks reportedly go back to last month, but additional details were unknown.

It was noted that that plans of a WWE Network special at the end of August were part of an “optimistic-at-best plans for WWE”, many have since been delayed, including the return of live crowds.

These plans were made prior to Paul Heyman being removed as Executive Director of RAW, and replaced by Bruce Prichard.

It’s worth noting that the details of the August 30 show were included in a group of optimistic-at-best plans for WWE, many of which have been delayed — most notably a return to live crowds.

WWE’s next pay-per-view following SummerSlam is Clash Of Champions, which is currently scheduled for September 20.
