The WWE is being proactive in ensuring Seth Rollins will be close to 100% going into Wrestlemania 35 against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Seth Rollins has been dealing with a back injury prior to Royal Rumble. The intention was for him to take time off following Rumble, in order for him to be healed by Wrestlemania 35.

Rollins injury isn’t preventing him from wrestling, but could be aggravated, and potentially cause further damage. The WWE does not want to jeopardize his match at Wrestlemania, and has given him the last few weeks off from in-ring competition.

If the WWE decides to, they could have Rollins back on the road wrestling, but that could cause major issues if he is injured to the point where he can’t work Wrestlemania.

This is a rare instance for WWE to allow a performer time off from the ring when an injury isn’t stopping them from wrestling.

As of right now, it’s unknown if Rollins will be given time off until his match against Lesnar at Wrestlemania 35, or if he will still work a few matches before April.

It’s expected Rollins will continue to travel with the company and do promos leading into his Universal Championship match. He has been removed from any up-coming live events.
