Bayley Would Have Liked To Have Non-Title ‘Grudge Match’ At Wrestlemania 37
WWE will be presenting its two-night Wrestlemania pay-per-view this weekend in Tampa, and one of the company’s top stars does not have a match on the show.
Bayley recently spoke with Alex McCarthy of talkSport, and didn’t have answers to why she didn’t have a match at this year’s event.
“I cannot give you an honest answer, dude,” stated. “I don’t know. I’m sorry guys, it just didn’t happen.”
“Even if there was something, I don’t know if I would tell you guys to spoil it. But yeah, it’s OK. I’ll be here for a long time. I might just jump the barricade and steal my own moment if they won’t give me one. I’ll just steal it.”
She did reveal pitches were made and would have loved to have a non-title “grudge type-match” at the show.
“I’ve pitched for stuff for this past WrestleMania just because there has been so many instances this past year where the pitches have gone through and it becomes easier to talk to certain people.
“I would have loved to have had a non-title match at WrestleMania. Just a grudge type of match. Something that meant, not more than a title, but was a little deeper than a title. But, there’s always next year.
Despite not being included in the card, Bayley isn’t unhappy with her being excluded and is happy that more women are going to be represented on the show
“I’m just so happy that more women are going to be represented and I know the two title matches are going to be killer so we can’t really be bummed out about it, we got to look at the bright side I guess.”
Bayley has not competed on SmackDown since 2/19, where she teamed with Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler against Bianca Belair, Reginald, and Sasha Banks. She confirmed she is not dealing with any injuries.
“Oh yeah, I’m fine [no injuries]. I’m not the person to ask [why I’m not being used], buddy!”
Check out a clip from the interview below.
“I don’t know. I’m sorry guys, it just didn’t happen.”
Bayley says she has pitched stories and matches for WM37, but there are currently no plans. She hasn't wrestled since Feb 19, but she also confirms she has not been injured.
