Multiple AEW stars have taken shots at WWE’s latest edict, preventing talent from engaging in 3rd party deals.
Brodie Lee, who previously took jabs at Vince McMahon during the beginning of his AEW run appeared on the latest episode of Being The Elite. During a segment, Lee “banned” Twitch, stating “Twitch is dead” and “no more 3rd party affiliates”.

During a recent interview with WrestlingInc, Lee confirmed he took jabs at Vince McMahon during AEW vignettes, but didn’t want to be seen as a “bitter ex-employee”, so he moved away from that to build his own identity.
“Obviously, there was a couple of little Easter eggs and things that people could very easily pick up on, but as a whole, the character was never meant to be a Vince McMahon parody. But there was definitely a couple jabs his way in the early going,” Lee stated. “Once I realized that that was everything that people were going to talk about, I wanted to get away from that as quickly as possible because I wanted it to be more about me more about my identity and more about my journey to where we’re going. I didn’t want to be seen as that that bitter ex-employee. I don’t want that label on me whatsoever.”
“I rather enjoy that and the thought of me, little old me, affecting someone there, that’s OK with me.”
During this past Saturday’s AEW All Out pay-per-view, Kip Sabian plugged his Twitch channel, a disclaimed indicating the “message was approved by All Elite Wrestling” was seemingly taking a shot at WWE’s new rules.
