Chris Jericho has not appeared for New Japan Pro-Wrestling since January’s Wrestle Kingdom 14 event, where he defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Jericho’s absence from the company may not only be due to the pandemic, but his current contractual status with the promotion.
Dave Meltzer noted in the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, former NJPW President Harold Meij wasn’t keen on Jericho’s booking price.
Meltzer also noted, he doesn’t believe Chris Jericho is currently under contract with NJPW, but since Meij’s departure from the promotion, there has been renewed interest.
Chris Jericho’s return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling could come in 2021, if a new deal is made.
