Last November, Cody injured his knee at the ROH Global Wars event in Buffalo, NY. According to Cody, he heard a pop in his knee when throwing a t-shirt into the crowd.

He wrestled that night, but had to pull out of events ahead of Wrestle Kingdom, where he did face Juice Robinson.

According to Dave Meltzer, in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cody will be undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery on 2/12 in Atlanta, GA.

This procedure will take him out of action for two to three months, but he’s not scheduled to wrestle until AEW’s ‘Double Or Nothing’ event on 5/25 in Las Vegas.

Rhodes was lucky that he suffered no tears in his ACL, PCL, or MCL. He did however suffer multiple meniscus tears, which is the reason he needs surgery.

Cody revealed earlier this month that he should be walking on his injured knee, despite the fact he was briefly in action at the Bar Wrestling event on 1/16.

My knee is shot. I shouldn’t be walking on it, multiple meniscus tears. Complex/horizontal.

But we have a great doctor and the scope has a short recovery time back to 100%. https://t.co/9j7Rj8JWHG

With all roads pointing to ‘Double or Nothing’ in Las Vegas, the hope is Cody will be 100% for the first All Elite Wrestling event.
