WWE plans to go head-to-head with AEW over the next two weeks with a special edition of NXT television.
NXT Great American Bash will be held on July 1 and 8, the same nights as AEW’s Fyter Fest.
Cody Rhodes responded to a fan who insisted WWE pay his mother for using The Great American Bash name.
it’s all good friend. I appreciate the sentiment. Although the event means a lot to my Sister and i, I don’t own the IP and ain’t holding much of a grudge on it. My focus has to be on our show and talent. Making it fun, making it violent, making it memorable.

Cody’s father, the late Dusty Rhodes came up with the idea of The Great American Bash. The event debuted in 1985 under Jim Crocket Promotions, then later was produced as a WCW event.
Dusty Rhodes’ daughter Terri posted on Twitter shortly after the event was announced, telling WWE to cut her mom a check.
