Curtis Axel is the latest WWE Superstar to be released from the company.

WWE has come to terms on the release of Curtis Axel.

Curtis Axel is the son of the late “Mr Perfect” Curt Hennig, and the grandson of Larry “The Axe” Hennig.

Axel signed with WWE in 2008, and was assigned to the company’s developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling.

Curtis Axel took part in the second season of NXT, using the name Michael McGillicutty.

He won numerous titles since signing with WWE, including the FCW Heavyweight Championship, FCW Florida Tag Team Championship, WWE Intercontinental Championship, and WWE Tag Team Championship.

Axel joins a long list of WWE stars who have been released during COVID-19 cuts.
