2021 WWE SummerSlam Date

WWE has locked in a date for the 2021 SummerSlam pay-per-view.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Summerslam will take place on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

Last month, Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated confirmed with WWE sources, SummerSlam will be held in front of a live crowd.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider later revealed potential locations for this year’s event, based on internal WWE chatter. There has been talk to hold to the PPV in Phoenix, Arizona, or somewhere in Texas. The company is hoping to run the show outdoors in a stadium. No location has been finalized as of this writing.

Over the weekend, Wrestlevotes reported WWE is planning to have SummerSlam as the kickoff for the company’s return to touring.

Last year’s SummerSlam was the first WWE PPV to run from the ThunderDome, it was originally scheduled to take place in Boston, but was moved due to the ongoing pandemic.
