Davey Boy Smith Jr. has left New Japan Pro Wrestling.
According to Joe Lanza of Voices of Wrestling, rumors began circulating that Smith was fired from New Japan, while others indicated New Japan wanted him full-time, but he decided to pursue other options.
Dave Meltzer has confirmed Smith has left New Japan, but the circumstances around his exit have yet to be revealed. “Davey Boy Smith Jr. has left New Japan, but any stories he’s going to ROH aren’t true,” Meltzer stated.
Smith was vocal on social media during Wrestlemania weekend indicating he’s been putting up with “crap” from promotions overseas lately.
Thanks to @GCWrestling_ for having me on Bloodsport tonight. I’m glad I got to show the fans what I think is my true style 🤛 and I’m not going to bite my tongue on this one, a much better showing than the absolute crap I’ve been put in by overseas companies lately 🥊🥋🤼♀️🤛😉 pic.twitter.com/XNFxT2gv59
