Actor turned pro-wrestler David Arquette issued a statement today after being injured during a death match with Nick Cage this past Friday at Joey Janela’s LA Confidential Event.

Arquette no sold the finish and left the ring after being pinned by Cage. He was holding his neck for several minutes and he was bleeding profusely after multiple light tubes were shattered on his head.

Arquette, who has been filming a documentary about his wrestling journey seemingly didn’t realize how hardcore a death match was, and has vowed to never compete in that type of attraction again.

Pro Wrestling Sheet spoke with GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale who says the finish of the match did not go as planned, but everything else was supposed to have. Arquette agreed prior to the match two all the weapons used.
