Timing Cues Blamed For Abrupt Ending

The finish of last night’s Friday Night SmackDown did not go as planned.

SmackDown ended with a brawl between members of the RAW, SmackDown, and NXT roster. The broadcast of the show ended abruptly, with a major spot happening after the episode went off-air.

According to Fightful Select, the end of Friday Night SmackDown was originally scheduled to have a spot involving Mustafa Ali and Lio Rush. This happened off-air, and later posted on WWE.com due to issues with timing and cues.

WWE posted footage that didn’t air on the broadcast following the event.

WWE also cancelled the scheduled episode of 205 Live which was to air following SmackDown. According to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, WWE made the decision to cancel the episode due to the NXT invasion segment closing the show.

Following the event a dark segment involving DX and Baron Corbin happened for those at the venue.
