Epico Belives 90% Of WWE Talent Is Underutilized

Former WWE Tag Team Champion Orlando Colon (fka Epico Colon) has commented on Andrade’s WWE release, as well as revealing a conversation he had with the star before prior to leaving the company.

During an interview with SportsKeeda’s ‘UnSKripted’ podcast, Colon reacted to Andrade’s release, stating that he was ‘happy for him’.

“I’m happy for him. He’s put in his time there, he’s put in his time outside of WWE, he deserved a better spot and now doing his own thing, nobody can cut his wings off and he can fly high and do what he knows to do best. Right now he’s one of the best in the world, second to none. On top of that he’s one of my good friends. I was just talking to him today, cracking some jokes and just talking about his future and the future looks bright for him.”

Colon continued by reciting a conversation he had with Andrade prior to requesting his release from WWE.

“I’ve been talking to him. I saw him in Orlando two weeks ago and he was like “they are not doing anything with me and it’s not a matter of the money but me following my dreams. I hate sitting at catering every week. It’s pretty toxic when you look at it that way. You’ve got the best performers in the world over there. Just look at the locker room.”

Colon gave his take on WWE misusing talent on Raw and SmackDown, something the company has been criticized for over recent years.

“All of them. It’s weird, you see guys used on tv, and people say ‘oh, they’re being used well’. No, they’re not using them right. 90% of the roster is being underused. But then again, it’s entertainment, it’s a TV show with wrestling. It’s a different ball game from what it was in the 90s and the 80s.”

Following Andrade’s release, reports emerged revealing that there was no 90-day non-compete clause included in his contract. You can read more on this here.
