ESPN SportsCenter anchorman, Keith Olbermann, sent out a tweet against MLB on Fox Sports for promoting WWE Superstar Braun Strowman.
During the September 19 St. Louis Cardinals versus Chicago Cubs baseball game, Strowman was a guest commentator with announcers, Joe Davis and John Smoltz.
As seen below, Strowman’s promoting SmackDown’s move to the FOX network on October 4.
Moreover, Strowman is also seen talking about his father being a former softball player on the Louisville Sluggers advisory board.
Turns out, @WWE Superstar @BraunStrowman's dad was a BEAST softball player.
At 6'8" 385 lbs, we'd be down to see Braun take some hacks 💪

On the other hand, Olbermann reacts with a sarcastic tweet, expressing his disapproval with Strowman and the WWE.
You guys are kidding, right? pic.twitter.com/RfdsQbjk3o

Nevertheless, Strowman responds to Olbermann in a similar fashion.
Yea I know right it’s unreal how good I looked on the show today!!!!!!

As a result, Strowman’s MLB appearance instigated more criticism from various reporters and journalists on Twitter.

Most important series of the year and Fox has some WWE dude in the 2nd inning talking about wrestling during a baseball game. Give me back @lenandjd, this is ridiculous.

WWE is generally known for receiving criticism concerning its nature as a legitimate sport or not.
Therefore, this general disapproval of MLB’s promotion of the WWE through Strowman is no different.
Consequently, multiple WWE staff members responded to Olbermann’s comment, including color commentator, Corey Graves.
Sorry @KeithOlbermann, I’m sure it’s a tough pill to swallow. You were awesome once, and I’m sure you still are. Where’s YOUR soapbox these days? @Brazzers? https://t.co/R7oZTp6Rv4

Similarly, 2018 WWE Hall of Famer, Mark Henry, formally chastised Olbermann’s comment with Bully Ray’s support.
I would love to bash @KeithOlbermann but it would be a waste of time. I will cast judgement on who he works for if no apology comes soon. The WWE doesn’t deserve his contempt. If WWE fans boycotted his network management would slap his hand.Wake up Keith! @WWE @BustedOpenRadio

I am in complete agreement!!
— Bully Ray (@bullyray5150) September 20, 2019
@espn I love my industry an will not let @KeithOlbermann show disrespect to our brothers or show contempt or make snide comments. We are above that now we are a billion dollar industry. @davemeltzerWON @WWE @AEWrestling @njpwglobal @MLW @IMPACTWRESTLING @ringofhonor https://t.co/PP2Qtixvkm

It’s what you imply not always what is said.

Lastly, we can only wonder if the criticism will continue once SmackDown Live begins airing on FOX.
