Former WWE NXT star Dan Matha was arrested on Monday, August 17 for failure to appear in court, following a traffic violation earlier this year.
The story, which was first reported by WrestlingInc, states Matha was arrested in Orlando, FL.
HeelByNature.com has obtained the arrest record, which states Matha failed to appear in court for driving with expired registration.
Last year, Matha was stopped twice for driving with a suspended licence. In February 2020, he was stopped once again, and pleaded no contest. He paid a fine of $722 for that infraction. Matha’s license was suspended due to unpaid traffic fines.
Dan Matha was involved in a car accident on March 28, the officer attending the scene was advised my Matha that he didn’t have updated registration. The accident caused $12,500 in damage according to criminal traffic documents.
The officer on scene provided the following details when he arrived.
On March 28, 2020, at approximately 7:15pm, I was dispatched to a crash at Plymouth Sorrento Road and Hauss Road. When I arrived on the scene I observed a silver Hyundai Sonata with severe front end damage. I spoke to the driver of the vehicle, the driver advised he knew the registration was expired. This was the second conviction for driving with an expired tag over 6 months. I then cited the driver.

Matha was served a citation due to driving with expired registration, and was to appear in court on June 24. Matha did not appear, and a notice was sent to his home on July 1. Matha allegedly did not respond to the notice, and an arrest warrant was issued on August 17.
Matha was released from an Orange County Jail, and has a new court date set for September 2.
Dan Matha was released from WWE the same month, alongside dozens of other wrestlers, and other staff due to company wide cuts.
