Gene Okerlund Admitted To Nursing Home Days Before Death
Mean Gene Okerlund’s passing has devastated not only the wrestling community, but those closest to him, his family. Todd Okerlund, Gene’s son spoke with TMZ, and provided details on the events leading to his death.
Okerlund suffered a nasty fall last month, where he suffered multiple broken ribs, and was treated at a hospital in Sarasota, FL. Okerlund’s health was declining for sometime, but the fall is what made matters worse.
Four days prior to his death Okerlund was admitted into a nursing home. Gene began having trouble breathing, and was rushed to a hospital on Wednesday where he passed away. His wife Jeanne was by his side in the hospital.
The WWE aired a tribute graphic before yesterday’s NXT programming.
