Jim Ross And Vince McMahon Mutually Agree It’s Time To Move On
Jim Ross has confirmed his exit from WWE at the end of the month when his contract expires with the company.
Ross stated on the latest episode of The Ross Report that his deal with the WWE expires on 3/29, and he will not be re-signing with the company.
He mentioned he had a conversation with Vince McMcMahon, and they mutually agreed it is time to move on.
His signing with the WWE came weeks after the death of his wife Jan. He initially signed with the company to stay busy, following the tragic accident that took the life of his wife.
Jim Ross signed a 2 year deal with the WWE in 2017, and was used for select events including the Mae Young Classic, NXT UK, 25 Anniversary of RAW, and Wrestlemania 33.
Ross also worked for AXS TV, doing play by play for New Japan Pro Wrestling. Ross was initially able to work for both WWE and AXS TV.
At the end 2018, Ross’ contract expired with AXS TV, and WWE did not allow him to sign a new deal.
Ross is expected to continue to his weekly podcast, as well as tour for live event engagements.
There is no word whether any other promotion has reached out to Ross, but he states he doesn’t feel it will be hard finding another job.
