Johnny Gargano addressed the NXT universe Tuesday night, closing the episode with a heartfelt promo.
Gargano spoke about his time in the company, thanking the fans, his peers, and everyone behind the scenes on the yellow and gold brand.

“This is like my family, it will never change. I know change is scary, but sometimes it needs to happen. If there is one message I want to leave for you guys. ‘You will never fail if you bet on yourself’. I don’t know what my immediate future holds, that’s up in the air right now. I do know one thing’s for sure, in February, I’m going to start the most important job in my life, because I’m going to be a Dad. He’s going to watch this back one day and thank you all”.
During his promo, Gargano was attacked by Grayson Waller, which could have written him off television, or setup a future program if he does sign a new deal with the company.
Johnny Gargano’s WWE contract is set to expire this month, and according to a recent report from Fightful Select, many within the company are under the assumption he will no longer be with the company after this week. He has been offered a new multi-year contract, but it’s unknown if he has agreed to terms for a new deal. Internal belief within the company is if he does sign a new deal, he will be taking some time off.
