The lawsuit between CM Punk and Colt Cabana has been dismissed.
PWInsider reports court documents filed with the Circuit Court Of Cook County on 9/26 indicate the lawsuit between Phil “CM Punk” Brooks and Scott “Colt Cabana” Cabana Colton has been dismissed with prejudice.
The filing signed by Circuit Court Judge Daniel J. Kubiask states, “having examined said stipulation and being fully advised in the premises, finds that this cause of action has been fully compromised and settled and the parties have stipulated and agreed to the dismissal of the complaint with prejudice, and the court further finds that all costs have been paid.”
The report states no financial settlement is involved, and the lawsuit was dismissed by mutual releases from both Cabana and Punk. This lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice, which means neither party can file another lawsuit against each other over this matter.
The lawsuit was filed in August 2018 by Colt Cabana. He alleges that Punk breached a contract with him to cover legal fees in the lawsuit WWE doctor Chris Amann brought against them. The court initially dismissed the filing, but allowed Cabana to re-file. Cabana was seeking $200,000 in damages, in addition to $1 million in punitive and exemplary damages.
CM Punk filed a counter-lawsuit against Cabana this past June, stating he spent $1.2 million in legal fees for himself and Cabana for the Amann lawsuit, and was never reimbursed. Punk was seeking $600,000 from Cabana on his counter-lawsuit.
