Lio Rush Claims WWE Employee Is Trying To Get Him Fired

Lio Rush has responded to several stories that have emerged over the past week regarding the internal heat he reportedly has in WWE.

Rush spoke with Fightful, and gave his side to a lot of the stories that have surfaced which involves backstage etiquette, and bringing family members to the venue uninvited.

Rush spoke about his relationship with Bobby Lashley, and how being paired with him has given him confidence he didn’t have on the independent scene. He did however have an issue with how the company hasn’t paid him for merchandise that has his catchphrases on them, as well as having to pay for transportation and accommodations on his own.

My issue is the fact that I haven’t been on meet & greets with Bobby, haven’t been getting paid for merchandise for us that has my catchphrases on them. (I) have been sent to live shows and TVs and forced to pay for my own rental for 5 days as well as hotel while not making enough money to do so. Walking around broke in the biggest sports entertainment industry that there is while having two kids and a wife to support.”

Rush also addressed a story that recently surfaced from PWInsider which stated he had heat for not carrying water for talent on the last European tour. Rush, who was a new member of the main roster was expected to do this to show respect to the veterans.

It’s not about race and it has never been, but public perception is important to me and when we have fans that travel all over the globe and watch us get off of buses and into hotels, the LOOK of a black kid carrying waters and bags for other wrestlers is just not a good look, especially when I’m trying to portray myself as a superstar as well

When asked about the story that Fightful reported regarding an incident where Finn Balor tried to give him advice about not having his wife present for rehearsals, Rush explains there is a former ROH employee, who now works for WWE, who dislikes him and is leaking false information to get him released.

Me and Finn are cool, and my wife has never been an issue. There is someone who works for WWE who has hated me since the day I’ve worked for ROH and now that they work for WWE they’re leaking false information to get me released. At a certain point, I have to defend myself so that’s what I decided to do. We’re all human, and we’re all grown ass adults. The kind of shit the flies backstage is ridiculous and I’m surprised more people aren’t speaking up,

Rush didn’t speak on his future plans with the WWE, or if he will be moving to NXT, which recent reports have indicated.
