Matt Hardy Names His Mount Rushmore Of Wrestling Brothers
AEW star Matt Hardy recently spoke with ET Canada, speaking on a number of topics, including his current run in AEW, cinematic matches, and working separate companies from his brother Jeff.
He was also asked to name his Mount Rushmore of wrestling brothers, either real-life or fictional.
“Fictional or real, that makes it a little tricky. I got to be a little egotistical and put myself and my brother on there” Hardy said. ’l’ll put Edge and Christian on it as well, I’ll put the Dudley’s on it. I can’t go without putting the Road Warriors, even though they’re technically weren’t brothers, they were brothers in paint. The Road Warriors, The Legion of Doom has to go down as the greatest tag team in history”
Hardy also spoke about how he helped cinematic matches gain popularity, with the “Final Deletion” match against his brother Jeff Hardy during their TNA run in 2016. He believes it allowed stars like Sting and The Undertaker to continue to perform.
“Considering it gave Taker a great match against AJ Styles, that was amazing. I love the Boneyard Match. And Sting now being in AEW and being able to do these cinematic matches where he can be the Sting of old, it feels really special and you never know what you’re going to get. I think that’s amazing. So if I did help contribute to the new era of cinematic matches, I am very proud of the fact.“
