AEW had plans for a Bullet Club reunion at the end of their debut episode of Dynamite last October. Matt Jackson revealed plans during an appearance on the TalkN’Shop podcast recently.

During the episode, Matt Jackson revealed original plans for AEW’s debut episode of Dynamite last October. The company originally wanted to host the inaugural episode at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

“We were originally going to debut AEW Dynamite at Madison Square Garden. At the end of our match, the three of you [Anderson, Gallows, and Styles] were supposed to jump the guardrail, and we were going to have a Bullet Club reunion. Obviously, things didn’t work out like that,” recalled Matt.

Matt wanted a Bullet Club reunion to close out the show, featuring AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. Jackson stated, “When were pitching ideas to have you guys [Anderson and Gallows] come in, it was not going to be just the two of you [debuting on AEW]. There was going to be another person who I would not name. Let us just say he’s another Bullet Club member you may not want to talk about,”

AJ Styles contract was set to expire in the spring of 2019, and prior to him signing a new deal, AEW’s interest in the star allowed him to get a more lucrative deal with WWE. Styles called Jackson and thanked him, believing he wouldn’t have received such a major offer from WWE if it wasn’t for them.

“The first guy in this conversation [AJ Styles] buzzed us and said, ‘I just got too good of an offer [from WWE] and I would have never got that money without you guys’ offer. So, I want to thank you.”

AJ Styles signed a 5-year deal with WWE, which he says will be his last wrestling contract. Gallows and Anderson also signed 5-year deals with WWE, but were released from the company this past April.
