Mauro Ranallo recently signed a multi-year deal with the WWE after a hiatus from the company. Mauro has been off WWE television since March, but has been in talks with the company since mid April trying to resolve issues.

Mauro returned as the lead broadcaster at the NXT TV Tapings last night and received a warm welcome from the Full Sail University crowd as well as the NXT team backstage.

Mauro recently spoke to the Associated Press regarding his departure from the WWE, signing with Bellator, and announcing the Mayweather vs. McGregor match.

When Ranallo was asked about his departure from Smackdown he stated “I was willing to walk away from my dream job, let’s leave it at that. In order for me to do that, I had to be true to my convictions and what makes you a human being.”

“This is the money fight,” Ranallo said. “This is a sporting spectacle, nothing more. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I equate it to the Battle of the Sexes with Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. It’s Evel Knievel attempting to jump over Snake Canyon.” Ranallo stated when asked about the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight.

“Dealing with my own health issues and where I come from, I’m not supposed to be here. Now I’m calling one of the biggest MMA events of the years, calling the biggest prizefight of the year … and the fact that I’ll soon be getting back into professional wrestling, I wouldn’t trade places with anybody.” when speaking on his mental health issues.
