MSG will be requiring proof of full vaccinations ahead of their WWE show later this year.

WWE recently announced their upcoming return to Madison Square Garden with an episode of SmackDown on September 10th, with pre-sale available from Thursday, July 8.

Following the announcement, the official Twitter account of Madison Square Garden confirmed that all guests over 16 must be fully vaccinated for the event, and must provide proof upon entry to the venue.

Please Note: All guests over the age of 16 will need to be fully vaccinated for this event and provide proof upon entry. For more info, visit https://t.co/IUeyfa0XjR.

WWE has not held many televised events from Madison Square Garden over recent years, with episodes of Raw and SmackDown in 2019 being the company’s first since 2009. Instead, they have opted for non-televised live events, with the most recent MSG show featuring Andrade defeating Rey Mysterio to become United States Champion.

The upcoming episode of SmackDown from Madison Square Garden takes place shortly after the reported date of this year’s WWE Draft, so it’s completely possible we see some fresh faces on the Blue Brand for the special show.

An episode of AEW Dynamite is currently set for the Arthur Ashe Stadium just two weeks later, so it’ll be interesting to see how both WWE and AEW do in New York City.
