Since his return at the Royal Rumble back in January, MVP has cemented himself as one of the top heels on Raw. From stealing the United States Championship from Apollo Crews to managing the new ‘Hurt Business’ faction, he has been involved in many interesting storylines.
During an interview with Newsweek, MVP spoke about people he has worked with since his return and discussed superstars he would like to face in the future.
MVP mentioned that Samoa Joe is at the top of his list, as surprisingly the two have never faced each other in the ring. However with the backup of his Hurt Business members, Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley, he feels now is the right time to step up to the Samoan Submission Machine
‘What I understand, ole Samoa Joe is gonna be back in action and over the years Samoa Joe and I have been great friends, but we’ve never ever faced each other. At this stage of my career, I think I feel a lot more confident facing him, knowing that I got Bobby and Shelton backing me up—but I also know that wouldn’t phase Joe in the least.’
Despite being away from the ring for some time, Joe has impressed many with his commentary skills on Monday Night Raw. And whilst it’ll be a shame to see him leave the announce team, recent teases of a feud against Seth Rollins suggests that Joe could be cleared to compete in the ring once again
