The winner of the tournament is set for a IWGP Championship opportunity at Wrestle Kingdom 14 on January 4, 2010.
G1 Climax 29 begins on July 6 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX, and ends on August 12 at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan.
New Japan Pro World will be airing the entire tournament to subscribers of the service.
