Dream Matches Could Happen In Future

Five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada is expected to appear for either All Elite Wrestling or IMPACT Wrestling in the future.

Dave Meltzer spoke on the business relationship between AEW, IMPACT Wrestling, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.

He noted that Kazuchika Okada is “coming at some point somewhere”, but due to the current pandemic, we will likely not see any dream matches soon.

Everyones in business now, it’s all open, and Okada’s coming at some point somewhere, I don’t know where, but I know he’s coming. Other people are coming. We may get Omega with Okada or Omega with Ibushi. I don’t know that we’re getting it, I just know that it makes sense that we would be getting it, but the doors are open, and that’s a good thing.

IMPACT Wrestling will host New Japan Pro-Wrestling stars David Finlay and Juice Robinson on this week’s edition of IMPACT! on AXS. Over the last few weeks, All Elite Wrestling has featured New Japan Pro-Wrestling star KENTA, setting up a match against IWGP U.S Champion Jon Moxley later this month.

The partnership between IMPACT and New Japan Pro-Wrestling has been in the works since last summer.

All Elite Wrestling’s current partnership with IMPACT Wrestling has seen Kenny Omega, Private Party, Matt Hardy, and The Good Brothers cross brands.
