IMPACT In Talks WIth NJPW For Several Months

New Japan Pro-Wrestling stars David Finlay and Juice Robinson will be appearing on this week’s episode of IMPACT on AXS.

The partnership between NJPW and IMPACT isn’t a result of the recent relationship between AEW and NJPW. Talks between IMPACT and NJPW date back to last summer according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider. This was around the same time The Good Brothers signed a deal with IMPACT Wrestling.

Initial plans had Finlay and Robinson debut at the last set of television tapings, but due to scheduling issues that had to be pushed back.

In 2017, Scott D’Amore visited Japan and apologized to the NJPW locker room for past issues. He personally apologized to Kazuchika Okada for how he was portrayed in TNA years before.

Chris Bey’s appearance in the NJPW Super J-Cup was the first public sign of the relationship between both parties beginning to mend.

IMPACT on AXS will air on Tuesday, February 16 at 8 p.m ET. For details on how you can watch, click here.
