Sammy Guevara is reportedly in hot water with AEW management following issues ahead of a planned shoot at the IMPACT Wrestling tapings.

As first reported by Bob Kapur of Slam Wrestling, Sammy Guevara voiced complaints regarding a planned storyline set to occur at IMPACT Wrestling. Guevara was set to appear on IMPACT following his storyline departure from AEW’s Inner Circle faction.

Chis Jericho pitched the idea, and Tony Khan contacted IMPACT to write him into their plans at the last minute.  IMPACT’s first plans were reportedly rejected, but a second idea was approved by Tony Khan.

Plans were made to shoot an angle this past week, but IMPACT reportedly received a message directly from Guevara, complaining about the creative direction. IMPACT then contacted Tony Khan and Chris Jericho regarding the issues. Jericho personally contacted Don Callis about “banning Guevara from Impact’s premises”.

Guevara was then asked to head home after arriving in Nashville. He received a message from Jericho advising him not to head to IMPACT’s shooting location.

Bob Kapur is a senior journalist with Slam Wrestling, which has been a staple in the Canadian wrestling scene since the 90s. He has interviewed Chris Jericho multiple times in the past, which lends credence to the report.

Following the initial report, Fightful Select (subscription required) noted during the last set of IMPACT tapings a wrestler from AEW “had issues with creative”. At the time it wasn’t revealed who the talent was, but was later confirmed to be Guevara. They could not speak to any alleged heat from Slam’s original report.

No other AEW wrestlers were seen at the IMPACT tapings last week. There is a possibility others could be added in post-production, similar to Kenny Omega’s first appearances for the promotion.
