WWE Set To Open UK Performance Center And Host NXT Takeover Specials

The WWE is set to make a major announcement for the NXT UK brand soon. Triple H recently stated that at the NXT UK TV tapings in Liverpool (11/24, 11/25) an announcement is set to be made.

According to Dave Meltzer, the WWE is planning on announcing a second Performance Center, likely in the U.K. The long term goal is to have performance center facilities all over the world, as part of their Global Localization plan. There is plans to have facilities in Japan, Germany, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Australia eventually.

Next week’s expected announcement is just the beginning of this long term plan to help get the best talent in different areas of the world, train them in their local geographical area, make them stars in their region, then let them expand worldwide.

The WWE UK has yet to finalize a TV deal, and has been streaming weekly on the WWE Network. The plans as of right now do include WWE hosting NXT UK Takeover event specials in 2019, but not as frequent as the one’s in North America.

There are plans right now for U.K. Takeover specials in 2019, not every few months although obviously everything depends on how well they are received.

The WWE will continue to work alongside local promotions like Revolution Pro and Progress, and it’s expected that their content will end up on the WWE Network in 2019.
