WWE presented its Halloween Havoc NXT special this week on USA Network.
During the show, a person dressed up as “Ghostface” from the Scream movie made two appearances, once during the Johnny Gargano and Damian Priest match, and later during the Candice Lerae and Io Shirai main event.
The identity of the mystery person was not revealed during the show, but original plans was to have the character to unmask during the event.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Indi Hartwell was originally planned to be under the mask, but was forced to quarantine due to COVID-19 precautions.
“The person in the scream mask who helped Candice LeRae was supposed to be Indi Hartwell, and may end up being called Indi Hartwell because she never unmasked.” Meltzer stated. “The idea was for her to unmask as Indi Hartwell, but she wasn’t there it was somebody else under the thing”
Hartwell was not at the show yesterday following a recent COVID-19 scare at the WWE Performance Center.
“As far as the only name that I know was booked on the show tonight that wasn’t there was Indi Hartwell, who was going to do a run in.” Meltzer said. “She I guess was quarantined, and there may have been one other. I was told most of the people who quarantined, but not all were people who have not made television”
It’s unknown if WWE will continue the storyline, and eventually have Hartwell revealed as mystery person under the mask.
