Updated Plans For Randy Orton At 2020 WWE SummerSlam
WWE will be presenting their annual SummerSlam pay-per-view next month at the Performance Center in Orlando, FL.
This past weekend, reports emerged that WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman is scheduled to face “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, ending the chapter in the “Three Faces Of Wyatt” storyline.
Last month, Louis Dangoor of Wrestletalk reported that Randy Orton has pitched the idea of working with someone from the NXT roster, more specifically Tommaso Ciampa or Adam Cole.
In an updated report, Dangoor states the current plans for the WWE Championship has Drew McIntyre likely defending the title against Randy Orton. This is due to the shortage of heels on the RAW roster.
Alex McCarthy of TalkSport added, due to Edge out of action with injury, there was backstage chatter to have Randy Orton face an NXT star, such as Adam Cole or Tommaso Ciampa, but having Orton face McIntyre would make more sense.
In fairness, I was also told Orton’s immediate thoughts after learning Edge was injured was to pivot to either Adam Cole or Tommaso Ciampa at SummerSlam.
Not sure on current plans, but common sense says Randy is top heel/best matchup for Drew. https://t.co/YDxEkxr1zE
