IMPACT Wrestling May Be Headed To AXS
Impact Wrestling may finally have a new home for their weekly TV.
According to Joe Lanza at Voices Of Wrestling (h/t Fightful Select), AXS may be potentially become the new home for IMPACT Wrestling’s television program. AXS and IMPACT are reportedly in negotiations, and if a move does take place, it will happen after the Slammiversary pay-per-view.
Pursuit Channel began running IMPACT’s weekly TV this past January, the network has been heavily criticized for their lack of constituency towards the product. In May the network failed to air the main event of the show, instead ran informercials. Last month they didn’t air one week’s television, running a re-run instead. The network has been recently dropped by AT&T’s UVerse, which will bring down their viewership event further.
Dave Meltzer reported in February that viewership for the weekly show is extremely low with 10,000 – 13,000 viewers on Pursuit.
AXS current is the home to WOW – Women Of Wrestling, and New Japan Pro Wrestling. According to Fightful Select, multiple names within New Japan Pro Wrestling has no desire to have a working relationship with IMPACT Wrestling, unless AXS were to aquire the company
In January 2013 Anthem Sports & Entertainment purchased a significant ownership stake in Pursuit HD.
IMPACT Wrestling has yet to comment on the potential move to AXS.
