AAA made a bold move Saturday night using a WWE trademark during their Guerra de Titanes event in Mexico
Sin Cara made a surprise appearance at the event, using his name, which is currently trademarked by WWE in Mexico and United States.
Sin Cara’s appearance came following a TLC match featuring Willie Mack, Puma King, Murder Clown, and Pagano vs. Killer Kross, Taurus, Texano Jr., and Chessman.

According to Dave Meltzer, AAA did not work out a deal with WWE using the name. It’s unknown whether WWE plans to pursue AAA or Sin Cara.
WWE’s trademark of the name Sin Cara runs until 3/29/21 in Mexico.
Sin Cara is currently under a 90-day no compete clause with WWE since being released on 12/4. Sin Cara is still receiving a downside guarantee from WWE until 3/8.
