Charlotte Flair will be off WWE television for the foreseeable future following an injury angle on Monday Night RAW.
Multiple sources, including PWInsider, Alex McCarthy of talkSpot, and Dave Meltzer report that Charlotte Flair is set to undergo surgery, unrelated to the angle last night on RAW.
The timeline of her return has conflicting reports, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer indicates they are hopeful she will be back by Summerslam, while Alex McCarthy reports she is taking an “extended break” and will hopefully be back by Royal Rumble 2021.
Sources have told talkSPORT that Flair will be taking an extended break from WWE. The 34-year-old has been a constant on the show for years now and she is going to be taking some personal time and having some surgery.
The idea is that she will return around Royal Rumble season next year, but if a good story pops up before then – around Survivor Series – she would be open to return later this year.
PWInsider noted that Charlotte’s surgery is elective, and she is not currently injured, and is expected to return in six weeks.
Charlotte Flair was attacked by Nia Jax on this latest episode of Monday Night RAW. In storyline, she was legitimately injured, possibly related to her collarbone, which is WWE’s reasoning for being off television.
