Cody Rhodes is returning to WWE.

Cody and Brandi Rhodes shocked the wrestling world last month when they announced that they would be departing All Elite Wrestling after being with the company ever since it’s inception in 2019.

During his time with AEW, Cody worked as one of the four EVPs, alongside The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. He was heavily involved with the company both on-screen and backstage, which made the news of his exit even more surprising to fans.

Ever since his exit, rumours surrounding Rhodes and his next move have flooded the wrestling world, with several outcomes being speculated.

Cody’s future in wrestling now seems to have been confirmed, as PWInsider report that he has signed with WWE.

It was noted by PWInsider that Rhodes completed the deal with WWE around 10-14 days ago, and that the current plan is for him to return during WrestleMania weekend and be part of the Raw brand.

Following the report, Fightful Select provided an update with additional information on the situation. It was noted that the current direction, which has been in place for ‘quite some time’ is for him to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, despite there being several ‘huge’ pitches being made along the way.

It was also noted that travel plans have been made for Cody Rhodes on WrestleMania Sunday (April 3rd), however plans for him could change at any moment, so this may not be the eventual outcome. Additionally, there has been internal discussions of having Rhodes travel to the show privately to avoid the publicity of him being spotted at an airport prior to WrestleMania.

WWE are also planning for Rhodes to be at the Raw after WrestleMania, a show synonymous for having returns, debuts, and a range of other surprises. Various Superstars at the top of WWE are also said to be ‘very excited’ about Rhodes’ imminent WWE return.
