WWE reportedly wanted Adam Cole to cut his hair before moving to Raw or SmackDown.
Adam Cole is now with All Elite Wrestling after leaving WWE last month, however various pitches have surfaced should Cole have re-signed and gone to WWE’s main roster.
As previously reported by Ringside News, WWE pitched for Cole to become a heel manager upon his main roster debut, with Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio noting that Cole would have managed a heel Keith Lee in a similar partnership to that of Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley on Raw several years ago.
Following the reports being released, Cole revealed that he hadn’t heard of the plans of becoming a heel manager during an interview with TVInsider.
Another pitch for Cole on the main roster has now been revealed, with Fightful Select reporting that WWE wanted Cole to cut his hair upon making his Raw or SmackDown debut.
The report noted that WWE wanted Cole to ‘establish a new look’ by cutting his hair, however the former NXT Champion made it clear to WWE that he wasn’t interested in the pitch. The pitch wasn’t brought up again, and wasn’t involved in the final plans to keep him in the company.
It was further noted that people within WWE spoke highly of Cole despite him not re-signing, as he was transparent to them what he did or didn’t like, and how he was to deal with during the ending of his time with WWE.
Cole, who is now a member of The Elite, will be going up against Jungle Boy on this Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
