The Mad King was reportedly recently suspended by AEW.

Eddie Kingston hasn’t wrestled for AEW in over a month, with his last match being the barbed wire deathmatch against Chris Jericho on the July 20 edition of AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest, which he lost.

Kingston’s absence lead to many fans questioning his status with the company, as he’s wrestled three matches for NJPW Strong and several independent promotions since his last AEW bout, with the latest being this past Monday.

With AEW’s fourth pay-per-view of the year – All Out – almost upon us, many thought that he’d have returned to television by now so that he could build a match for the show, however his involvement is now in doubt, and a recent Fightful report has explained the likely reason for this.

Fightful noted on Wednesday that Kingston was recently given a brief suspension by AEW, which he has now completed. According to the report, there has been rumours among talent that Kingston and Sammy Guevara developed heat, which resulted in an ‘altercation’ which saw Guevara make a comment regarding Kingston’s physique, before Kingston took a swing at him.

The two were supposed to be competing at All Out, however that doesn’t look to be happening. At least one segment to build the previously scheduled match has now been scrapped.

Sammy Guevara hasn’t had a televised match since the August 10 edition of AEW Rampage, which saw him and his wife, Tay Melo, defeat Dante Martin and Skye Blue to retain their AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships. However during Dynamite it was announced that he and Tay Melo will be facing Ortiz and Ruby Soho on this Friday’s edition of AEW Rampage. AEW is yet to announce Kingston’s return.

Following the report, a fan on Twitter brought up a video of a signing from a few weeks ago where Kingston said that he was going to f*ck Guevara up.

PWInsider reached out to Kingston for a response to the reports, to which he acknowledged that what he did was wrong. The article also noted that Kingston is expected to return next week.

“You know the truth. I wouldn’t lie. I was wrong for being unprofessional, that is a blind fact. He did what he did and the public can judge that, but I know for a fact i was wrong.”
