WWE Announcer Praised For Transparency
WWE announcer Kayla Braxon was the first known WWE talent who tested positive for COVID-19 back in March, later revealing she contracted the virus again in June.
According to Fightful Select (subscription required), Braxton was praised by her peers on her transparency, allowing WWE to name her in the memo sent internally following the first positive diagnosis.
“Braxton received praise from WWE staff and talent we spoke to about her transparency and care for co-workers. She had WWE name her in a memo, as well as the circumstances in which she believed she contracted the virus originally.”
WWE has not since named any talent or staff who tested positive, which caused frustration with those backstage.
The only known COVID-19 cases in the company came from those who went public on their own, including Renee Young, Jamie Noble, Adam Pearce, and Kayla Braxton.
The number of positive cases reportedly span a number of divisions in the company, including talent, staff, and producers.
Since the latest outbreak, the company has implemented stricter health guidelines backstage, including the mandatory use of masks, and testing prior to television tapings.
