Top Names Set To Return To WWE

WWE is returning back to the road beginning this weekend in front of live fans beginning Friday night in Houston for SmackDown.

This weekend’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view may see a major name returning to the company. According to PWInsider, Becky Lynch is currently scheduled to be in Fort Worth for the event. It’s unknown if she will make an appearance on television as of this writing.

WWE is planning a loaded show for this year’s SummerSlam, with recent reports of John Cena making his return later this month to build a potential match against Roman Reigns at the event.

Bill Goldberg Expected To Return

According to Fightful Select (subscription required), Goldberg is expected to make his return to WWE, setting up an eventual match against Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam. The plan as of today is to have Goldberg return on Mondays to build up the match.

Bobby Lashley is currently the favorite to retain his WWE Championship against Kofi Kingston at this weekend’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view, so it would seem if he and Goldberg did have a match at Summerslam it will be for the title.

Goldberg is contractually obligated for two matches per year, and this could be his second match of 2021.

It should be noted, like anything in WWE, plans can change. As more details are known on upcoming returns, an update will be provided.
